Recipe Text:

Similar to our other listed one, just with a small twist.

Ingredients

Pure orange juice
Lo-Salt
Can of regular coke (pre-opened overnight so it's flat)
Water

Method

1. Dilute the pure orange juice with the water (note: use pure orange juice from a carton, not orange squash/cordial as the aim is to get the vitamins from the orange). So why not leave it undiluted? It has a strong taste and is hard to stomach whilst riding. The amount to dilute it by is personal preference, but remember what may taste watery at home, may well be easier to stomach on the trail than something more pleasingly orangey!
2. Add a teaspoon of the lo-salt and mix well.
Lo-salt is used in preference to regular salt as it contains Potassium, which is one of the minerals lost during a good workout.
3. Add the can of flat Coke, this gives us a caffeine / sugar intake kick.
4. Taste and adjust the salt, orange or water levels etc, and aim for something not too sweet, certainly not too salty and not overly bland.
