Triton Cycles - Trek Bike Camp Report
Ride ReportsMatt and I set off from Barkingside late on Sunday night in the Triton van. It’s a long old drive from where we’re based to Afan and Glyncorrwg in Wales but the riding is well worth it.

Fast forward nearly 4 hours and we’re at Glyncorrwg Ponds Campsite and Mountain Bike Centre. After a long night of feeling like my toes were about to drop off from frostbite(Camping is definitely a summer time pursuit) we woke up to beautiful sunshine!

Tour of The Cornfields Ride Report
Ride ReportsFrankly 10 cans of lager and 5 hours sleep is NOT the best preparation for a long distance ride of any description. Nevermind though - just think of the carb-loading! Headed up the A10, passing Ware just as the first rider was heading out on the Whitewebbs CC Open 25mTT. It wasn’t a 6am start after all, morelike 8am so there was no way I could ever have done both events. Without doubt I made the best choice.

Just to recap, this was billed as a Cyclosportive with over 50% off-road on bridleways, by-ways. The route had a last-minute change so was clocked at 54.5miles.

SPAM Winter Challenge 2007 - Ham's Perspective

Woke with a start at 5am Sunday morning having just had a dream that Giles had sent me a text message saying 'Don't Do It!'. Sage advise as ever from Giles!!

I arrived at Matt's at the appointed (ungodly) hour of 6.30am and after a load up of the van, a quick coffee and toast, we were off. Good time was made despite some dodgy headlights - with Matt's voodoo dance miraculously solving the problem (he ran round the van twice mouthing an incantation and the lights came back on!!). As dawn broke the bleak grey skies and light
rain that greeted us were a sign of things to come. Past Stonehenge and crossing the Plain, disaster struck!!

Epping Hardcru – North York Moors 2006

Day 1

Friday 13th October – 8.45, Waltham Abbey – the Pikey Van is loaded – full to the brim with bikes, armour and other bike related bits – and of course – beer! Chugging along at a constant 60mph (on the flat bits at least), we’re making good time up the A1 – destination? The North Yorkshire Moors.

Southern XC Round 3 - Crow Hill, New Forest - Race Report

After a mega dose of food poisoning two weeks ago, It was a less than confident matty that hot footed it down the M3 at 8am on a hot and sunny morning.

The period of hot and dry weather in the preceeding week meant fast and dusty conditions in the New Forest.

Dorset rough riders had put together a good 5 mile course, unrelenting and fast, mostly technical singletrack with a few sharp climbs, on a mixture of loamy and sandy soil - (a factor which saw many riders crashing as grip was at a minimum )- and utilizing three wooded enclosures on the slopes of crow hill to make three distinct sections of the course.

Gorrick Enduro - A Stragglers Tale

Well it's the day after and I'm very very very sore!! So sore infact that I am having to type this report standing up!!

Pre-race: I was up and at 'em by 6am - car packed, drinks made up, energy gels and bars a plenty. Setting out early I was apprehensive and excited so many scenarios had been running through my head during the days leading up to it and now here I was, on my way! Come 7am I had arrived, no signs, no people!! It seems the organisers had decided to have a bit of a lie-in today.

EHC Goes Nuts!

After much to-ing anfd fro-ing, Mark, Paul and I finally got out this afternoon.

somehow we managed to do the best part of 10 miles, despite not really seeming to ride much.

We did The Nutcracker, into the Wedge, up Root Canal and then accross to the FR. Across the loughton road and into Swoopy Hollow. On reaching the drop off/bowl, we decided to have a play - taking numerous new lines into the bowl, the highlight being mark's last jump - its was sick!
