Gonna make this a sticky
All stuff about the 12hr enduro should be posted here.
I have had the thumbs up so count me in!!
Anyone else got the official OK?
Can i just confirm the dates and times though..
It a weekend i know that much and there's talk of going up on Friday night, racing the saturday and spending sunday chilling or having a "CRU" day out and returning on sunday night. Is that right?
Also what's the actual event name/website?

cool! download the entry form from the website link and read up on event info...
who to be team leader? I will do it if u guys want (just means i attend race briefing and the organisers mail me with dets/info/confirmation etc?)
www.twentyfour12.com
july 22/23 06 - midday start/midnight finish. we will have our own pit where we can chill out, sort bikes out, eat, doze, drink whatever...
we get a timing chip, which the rider on course carries, then hands over like a relay baton after their lap. the chip will register our laps as we pass through the transition/start/finish area... not sure if individual team members will be recognised, just the chip. so no matter if some do more laps than others - we are there to have a laff!!
I suggest travel down friday and camp, as its free with the entry, includes showers n proper toilet block etc.
Also reckon a van is a good idea, as per wales trip? split cost, and one other car for bods? (i may be able to borrow me dads shonky old sherpa van - but am concerned over reliability issues - its an E reg!)
have we all got tents? sleeping bags and ground mats?

Yeah i got a tent think it a 4 man, maybe a 5. It's an a frame thingy which Jo and I used to use. It will fit a double airbed with plenty of space either side for "Junk". Prolly sleep 3 with ground roll comfortably - 4 at a push. It's also got an awning type thing (inner sleeping tent with a front for sticking other stuff in and cooking in the dry etc.
Also got sleeping bags, ground rolls, etc.
Need to sort other stuff like stoves and lights etc...
Perhaps do a tick list...

can we sing songs round the campfire...." row, row, row ur boat "

Guys,
received the following email today re. the race sorry 12 hr enduro event:
Hi there Twentyfour12ers...
Well we have your entry so you're in, here's an update on the event and some exciting news about what's going on.
Course
We were up at Lodgewood park on Monday and the news is that local course builder Matt Farmer has managed to produce a 17km course. Keith Bontrager and Matt took a ride round in the wet and Keith wants us to reign in a few of the more technical bits and reduce some of the singletrack sections so that the course has plenty of chances for overtaking but a good balance of fun. The final course will be about 15k. The plan now is to get it more bedded in and get some more bikes on it. There will be a Midlands race series event held there on June 18th to help get the sections of the course ridden in and make sure it's totally ready for the big day in July.
Paul Smith
Paul Smith Jeans have come on board and are supporting the event. The design team have created 100 exclusive jersey designs and they are available to buy on a first come first served basis at www.xcracer.com/paulsm.../index.htm one design per team/pair/solo but you can buy as many of that design as are in your team, if ordered together. All profits will be going to the Paul Smith chosen charity www.octopuschallenge.co.uk
Training
Keith Bontrager has written some training advice to help you prepare and also give you a reality check about the challenge on offer, check www.twentyfour12.com for more details.
Log Cabins
Many of you have been asking about these and the news is they're in the final stages of construction and we can't be 100% certain that they wil all be ready in time, so it maybe a night under the stars for all. If confirmation of their finish is received and pricing is finalised in advance of the event we will email all those who have expressed an interest.
Demo Bikes
Trek and Gary Fisher will be exclusively be revealing their new 2007 full suspension bikes and in addition we have Rocky Mountain, Cove and Santa Cruz. They will all be there on Friday afternoon and will have a fleet of bikes available for your pleasure. More details of times in our next newsletter.
Stands
In addition to the demo brands also in attendance will be SIS, Sram, Rockshox, Lumicycle, Royles, Shred, MBUK, Climb On Bikes, Torq energy with many more to be confirmed.
Solos
We have introduced a 24hour solo category that is limited to 30 places, if you have entered the 12hour solo and you want to trade up then you can. But places are limited and currently there are only a handful of solo places left.
Other Categories
12 hour pairs are nearly full (only 2 spots left this morning) and 12 hour teams have 5 left. There is more space in 24hour teams but with the course size we have we will limit the event to 450 bikes on course at any one time.
Camping
More news on this soon but we can confirm the site will be open for camping arrivals from Thursday evening at 6pm with full facilities (refreshments, showers, toilets, water etc.) from Friday morning.
More news soon on...
Lighting advice, entertainment, t-shirts, training, night practice lap, directions, hot tubs.
Hope preparation is going well
Martyn and the Inevent team

oh and we can have exclusive beige dancer chav Paul Smith desgined shirts at £50 at pop!!!!! (designed?????? feck me, I can draw multi colured vertical lines and charge £50 each) Actually some of them are OK, but it's all or nothing if we want one - given only 20 have been sold so far, I guess they'll come down in prcie just before the race?

ok planning time - anyone got a frame tent? I have a gazebbo we can use as a pit, but in terms of a team tent, i have various tents ranging from silly lightweight backpacking (nah, we could strap it to yer bike its that small) to family dome tent - but that really only sleeps 2 or 3 adults in comfort. I used to work in the camping trade and took part of my wage in gear - unfortunately i took everything as lightweight/small packing stuff rather than "team" stuff (how was i supposed to know 15 years ago that I#d need a frame tent?!!!)
if you ask nicely i'll show you my "priceless" prototype sleeping bag that packs down to just bigger than a pint glass - it was worth £300 15 years ago xos no one sold/made em - no one still does - its 1 (well 15 actually) of a kind
in terms of stoves - i have a jet powered petrol stove, but if we're planning on cooking a lot - tesco's have big stoves in at the mo - fancy clubbing toether for a Hardcru stove?
