Anyone make it out today? Woke up at 8am and it looked okay out. Had breakfast, packed the car and it started pissing down. The Peaty scene from Seasons popped into my mind, so I set off for Danbury as planned. Wasn't too bad really, rode everything I would usually ride and met a few other riders out, including Tonto (whose friend has just got taken away in an ambulance with a broken ankle).

Mostly surface water, no deep puddles and my High Rollers gripped well in the sand. Had a good ride for a few hours and felt like Peaty swooshing through the puddles and over the jumps. Unfortunately the similarities between myself and Peaty stop after sharing first names. Whilst he cooly whizzed round his local trails, then headed off home to hose down his gear in the garden, I sat in my wet pants for 45 minutes in the car, having not thought to bring a change of clothes.

Pretty miserable weather, lets hope it cheers up for next weekend!

There was a pretty impressive car crash on the road down from HB - someone had lost it on one corner, looks like they fish tailled for about another 25m and ended up with the car in the trees! Still had the hazzards flashing too. Think it was a merc so guess it was either joyriders or someone coming back from the pub pissed.
